The Jassy Dean Garden Safari is an annual charity garden tour on Waiheke that showcases houses, gardens and art. This year there were 17 gardens to be visited over two days. I asked Steve if he wanted to join me, but he was off to the Big Boys Toys show in Auckland. Big Boys Toys included motorcycles, boats, quad bikes, big screen TVs and all sorts of other guy things.

The gardens included a variety of island properties from multi-million-dollar oceanfront mansions to small cottages in the bush. Displayed throughout the gardens was an exhibit of outdoor art. Some pieces were fun, some were beautiful and some were strange. Of course, one reason for going to garden tours is to see those places at the end of the very long driveway!
